Hello, I’m Taannyaa!

So a few years ago, I found myself working in finance straight out of undergrad - having studied economics – but not finance or business at the time. I had more questions than answers and, like many starting out, a fair bit of imposter syndrome. It felt like everyone around me just knew things – how markets worked, what the right acronyms meant, and spoke a language I hadn’t quite learned yet.

So, I googled everything – quietly and relentlessly. Not just to understand the “what” but also to make sense of the “why.”

That’s where Finitial comes from, the instinct to figure things out and make them feel relatable.

It’s not really a word (yet) but it felt right:

“Fin-” for Finance

“-itial” for Initial: beginnings, early thoughts, and personal takes

This is a space where I write about how finance and business show up in everyday life, whether that's in trends, products, culture, and how people move through the world.

Because the truth is, I’ve grown genuinely fascinated by business- how decisions get made, what drives value, and how it all connects to the world we live in.

And through it all, I write simply, using plain, human language. No jargon. No gatekeeping. Just thoughtful storytelling about how things work, and why they matter.

FYI this isn’t a guide, and I’m not here to give advice, it’s a place where I combine my love for writing with a growing understanding of business and finance. Some weeks I’ll write about timeless ideas, and other times, I’ll explore how business, money, and strategy show up in the world around us - unpacking whatever headline or trend is suddenly all over the group chat.
